Personal Story
Business has always been Kate's passion. As a child, she once asked for a cash register for Christmas and used Monopoly money to run her own pretend shop with her family. That entrepreneurial spirit eventually led her to pursue degrees in accounting and business administration and ultimately create Kate's Castle.
Today, Kate helps individuals and small business owners gain clarity, confidence, and control over their finances through bookkeeping, business consulting, and personal finance guidance.
The Name
Kate's Castle began as a conversation between a five-year-old girl and a future business owner.
Kate and Ava, the daughter of a close friend, often spent time discussing dreams, goals, and life's challenges. To help Ava think beyond her own perspective, Kate would frequently frame conversations around castles and kingdoms. Instead of asking, "What would you do?" she might ask, "What would a princess do?" or "How would a queen solve this problem?" The change in perspective often inspired surprisingly thoughtful, strategic, and compassionate answers.
As they imagined future businesses together—including restaurants (Kate’s Kitchen), coffee shops (Kate’s Coffee), daycares (Kate’s Kids), and more—Ava helped name many of them, clearly enjoying alliteration. When Kate asked where all of these businesses should belong, Ava declared they should be part of the village surrounding Kate's Castle.
The name stuck, and eventually became reality.
Today, Kate's Castle serves as the management company and foundation for Kate's growing family of businesses. More importantly, it represents the belief that strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and a solid foundation can help people build something meaningful of their own.
